Statement on the police uniform reports
Nalitex Limited is a Nairobi textile company. We make school and institutional uniforms, corporate wear, branded garments and home interior textiles for schools, businesses, hospitality, healthcare and homes.
In August 2026 several news outlets reported that Nalitex had been awarded a contract to supply the new Kenya Police Service general duty uniform. That report was not true.
What the National Police Service said
On 30 August 2026 the National Police Service stated publicly that Nalitex Limited did not feature in any stage of the process involving the development, selection, procurement or manufacture of the new police uniforms. The Service named Bedi Investments Limited as the manufacturer, chosen after a process in which four Kenyan textile mills were invited to submit samples. Nalitex was not invited, did not bid, was not a subcontractor and received no purchase order or payment in connection with that tender.
The statement was reported by, among others, Capital FM, TV47, Kahawatungu, Kenyans.co.ke and The Standard.
What the court said
In September 2026 the High Court of Kenya issued interim orders restraining the Standard Group from repeating or republishing the allegations made in its report of 30 August 2026. The matter remains before the court. The orders were reported by Nation, Citizen Digital and Capital FM.
Our position
Nalitex has no connection to the tender. The company has not changed its business, its ownership or its direction because of the reports. Our work remains what it has always been: uniforms, branded apparel and interior textiles made in Nairobi for customers across Kenya.
